Don’t allow your fear to be bigger than your faith.

For many of us 2013 represents a fresh start.  Having an opportunity to improve on the things we neglected in 2012.  An opportunity to create some changes in our lives be it our physical health, mental health and even our spirituality.  It represents the idea of making some changes in our habits, our drive and our will.  And for others it represents having to adapt to change.  Change in our lives that may come from our spouses, our children, our jobs and in some instances our entire surroundings.

So we gear ourselves for all of it and we tell ourselves that we’re ready, so we think.  For many of us, change represents our biggest fears.  It means that we will have to challenge ourselves to step out of the norm.  It means that we may have to let someone go.  Change represents having to adapt to a whole new way of thinking and living.  And for many of us, this change represents the fear of losing control over the things we care about the most.

So what do we do?  The truth is that change is inevitable.  Change is what allows us and those we love to grow.  It allows us to become creative, inventive and it thickens our skin.  We become more resilient and head strong because of it.  Some may say that approaching change with a positive attitude will be enough.  Or that we should hang in there and allow time to heal and everything will go back to normal soon enough.

For me personally, I can honestly say that I’ve had a lot of changes in my life like most of you have.  And I’ve always embraced it.  Initially, I feared it.  There have been times when I’ve struggled letting go.  Having to start all over again and fearing of what my future would be.  And what I’ve learned in these moments when fear is getting bigger than my faith is to take action.  I’ve learned to move forward.  Yes, with a positive attitude, but not by waiting for things to happen.  And every time I’ve taken action, I have never second guessed myself.  I have never over analyzed anything for too long.  I’ve realized where I was at that very moment and I’ve taken full responsibility to see it through.

So if you’re currently experiencing some changes in your life that are challenging you, it is really important that you take action today.  Don’t wait for conditions to be perfect.  Find balance with your timing and your resources and seek opportunity.  Otherwise, it is really easy to miss out on these opportunities when we sit and wait.  Taking action is the key to conquering your fear.  Always remember that there are no quick fixes or magic bullets.  You’re going to have to work for it and you’re going to have to be patient while you’re transitioning.  Just keep pushing forward and don’t fight it.  Learn to let go.  You’re going to be fine.  You’ve come this far, you’ll make it happen.

In closing, I want to wish all of you a fantastic 2013 year.  Embrace whatever changes come your way and always take action on your lives.  Don’t get stuck.  Always seek solutions and don’t just focus on the problems.  Be creative and don’t ever give up.  You owe it to yourself to be happy and to be strong.  And most importantly, you deserve it.  Please remember not to allow fear to be bigger than your faith.

To your health & success,
Marco Gamez
