First let me start by saying that this is my first kid and I am so excited! But, in response to Faidre and our little girl Phoebe Rhea being two days into the 40th. week. I couldn't imagine doing anything else but to be supportive. In my eyes, Faidre is doing all the work. Faidre is taking all the risk. Faidre is the one who is experiencing every step of the way. I get to be excited! How do I feel? I feel that whatever Faidre needs to make her comfortable is all that matters. And it's all that's important. If there is anything I've learned through my yoga practice is to be patient. To be grateful. And to be conscious.
To be patient right now means to let nature take it's course. Neither Faidre nor Phoebe Rhea are at risk. So lets not mess with Mother Nature.
To be grateful means to appreciate Faidre's work and all her efforts. Not to mention, all her sacrifice. She really is doing so much. And she's doing it for us. Nothing selfish about it. I love her for that. Soon, I'm going to be a father thanx to her.
And finally, to be conscious right now means to realize that something really special is taking place. And although it's something that takes place everyday, it should not be taken for granted. For lack of better words, it's a miracle. And for me, it means to capture and exerience every step of the way.
In closing, you may be wondering why I'm sharing this with you. And what does this have to do with yoga. Let me explain. When you decide to get healthy and I hope that you do, you need to be patient. You're gonna have to put your time in. That's just the way it works. There are no magic pills. You also need to be grateful for having options. If you're hesitating because it's unaffordable, you have the option to go for walks or hiking with your spouse. Be grateful to have choices and take action. Finally, you need to be conscious of your health. And if you're not healthy or if you're unhappy, you must do something about it! No excuses, no creative reasons for not doing something about it. The minute you apply these things to your health, you'll learn to apply them to the rest of your life, as I am doing. Listen, there is one thing for certain. If you do nothing in life, you're guaranteed for nothing to happen.
To your health & success,
Marco Gamez
